Entrepreneurs and Startup Companies Invited to Utilize Web 2.0 Expo as a Platform to Launch Their Company or New Products
SAN FRANCISCO -- Web 2.0 Expo, produced by O'Reilly Media, Inc. and CMP Technology, Inc., today announced the deadline for participation in Launch Pad, an event created for new Web 2.0 companies to highlight their business and products in front of 5000 builders of the next generation Web. Approximately a dozen companies will be chosen to present their innovative products and business models during the keynote sessions at the conference. Deadline for applications is February 2, 2007. Web 2.0 Expo will take place April 15-18, 2007 at the Moscone West Convention Center in San Francisco.
Launch Pad, an overwhelmingly popular segment that originally took place at the Web 2.0 Summit, has been integrated into Web 2.0 Expo program to promote the launch of new Internet companies and products. During the latest Web 2.0 Summit in 2006, 13 companies were selected from over 250 applicants to publicly unveil their products at Launch Pad. Companies that have made announcements in past Web 2.0 Summit Launch Pad segments include SocialText, Flock, KnowNow, Rojo, Zimbra, Skittit, Sphere and TimeBridge.
In order to qualify, the company or significant new product must not be publicly announced prior to the conference. Applications will be reviewed by panel of judges and the conference chairs. Those interested can apply by going to http://www.web2expo.com/pub/w/53/launchpad.html. Applications must be received by February 2, 2007.
Web 2.0 Expo is designed to be the major annual gathering of technical, design, marketing, and business professionals who are building the next generation web. This event is comprised of three major components: a five-track educational conference, including both traditional seminar formats and elements of peer-to-peer learning; a major tradeshow showcasing the sellers of tools, technologies, services and infrastructure; and networking and other events targeted at internet entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and business development executives.
