"The industry is seeing a huge shift to the cloud," says Krishnan. "A lot of people are trying to figure out 'the cloud' and in particular Microsoft's cloud platform—from an architectural, business and a technical standpoint. This book is aimed squarely at helping them. My hope is that when the reader finishes this book, he or she will have a crystal clear idea of what Windows Azure is, what it can do, how it works and how to make best use of it."
Chapters in Programming Windows Azure are organized to reflect the platform's buffet of services. The book's first half focuses on how to write and host application code on Windows Azure, while the second half explains all of the options you have for storing and accessing data on the platform with high scalability and reliability. Lots of code samples and screenshots are available to help you along the way.
