Sebastopol, CA, January 28, 2011—O'Reilly's Strata, a brand new conference, has sold out the week before it begins. The future belongs to those who know how to use big data, and Strata is the place to learn how to make data work. Strata starts February 1 and continues through February 3 at the Hyatt Regency Santa Clara and Santa Clara Convention Center.
Conference chairs Edd Dumbill and Alistair Croll will welcome over 1,200 attendees to Strata, and are gratified by the terrific interest in the inaugural event. Edd says, "A huge urgency and opportunity has developed around how we make use of data. While businesses struggle with data overload, big rewards exist for those who can make their data work. For those who want to succeed, it all begins at Strata."
"From the start, it's been clear that Strata is a different kind of event," adds Alistair. "The calibre of proposals, the background of the speakers, and the enthusiasm for this discussion have been amazing. We're thrilled at this support and can't wait to bring it to a broader audience next time."
Strata 2011 will live stream all the keynotes at http://strataconf.com/live beginning Feb 2, and will also offer videos, speaker presentation files, and media coverage at: http://strataconf.com.
Featured keynotes include Carol McCall of Tenzing Health, Werner Vogels of Amazon, Hilary Mason of bit.ly, Mike Olson of Cloudera, Rod Smith of IBM, DJ Patil of LinkedIn, Simon Rogers of the Guardian, Mark Madsen of Third Nature, and Barry Devlin of 9sight Consulting.
O'Reilly Media plans to continue the discussion around Strata and will hold more Strata events; details to be announced soon.
