Sebastopol, CA, October 1, 2012—New York City just gave data geeks their very own week. Co-producers New York City Department of Information Technology & Telecommunications (DoITT) and O'Reilly Media's Strata Conference + Hadoop World announce the first NYC Data Week, a city-wide celebration of data innovation spanning October 22 to 26, 2012. DoITT and O'Reilly invite data enthusiasts to help plan the week by adding events to a crowdsourced calendar.
NYC Data Week's original line-up includes a Startup Showcase with Fred Wilson and Tim O'Reilly, Ignite NYC, a hackathon, and several meetups. An enthusiastic response from the data community continues to add to the Calendar of Events.
