Conference Explores Emerging Techniques and Technologies to Help Organizations Successfully Apply AI to Their Businesses
BOSTON MA—O’Reilly, the premier source for insight-driven learning on technology and business, today announced the lineup of speakers presenting at the O’Reilly Artificial Intelligence Conference, presented with Intel. The event will take place from September 9–12 in San Jose, Calif. at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center. Through detailed case studies, technical sessions and trainings, the AI Conference will offer a unique opportunity to tap into the leading minds in AI and network with thousands of innovative researchers, data scientists, engineers, senior developers and executives across industries
Together, Conference Chairs Ben Lorica (O’Reilly), Julie Shin Choi (Intel) and Roger Chen (Computable Labs), along with Honorary Co-Chairs Tim O’Reilly (O’Reilly) and Peter Norvig (Google), have created a conference program designed to help organizations successfully apply AI from both a business and technical perspective, covering emerging AI techniques and technologies. Featured speakers include:
- Anuradha Gali, Uber
- Paige Bailey, Google
- Francesca Lazzeri, Microsoft
- Roshan Sumbaly, Facebook
- Michael Radwin, Intuit
- Hagay Lupesko, Amazon Web Services

In advance of the conference, O’Reilly will release a report, “How Organizations are Sharpening their Skills to Better Understand and Use AI,” that explores the data- and AI-related topics technology experts are most interested in. The report, authored by Lorica, found that overall content usage across all topics, grew 8 percent from 2018 to 2019 (January to July). Among the fastest-growing topics were those central to building AI applications: machine learning (up 58% from 2018), data science (up 53%), data engineering (up 58%) and AI itself (up 52%), indicating that companies and individuals are taking AI training and adoption seriously.
“AI is poised to transform every industry, and as the technology moves beyond research, implementation becomes increasingly important," said Lorica. “Through our partnership with Intel, the AI Conference presents a unique opportunity for organizations to identify opportunities and develop strategies to practically and profitably apply AI systems to their businesses today.”
O’Reilly and Intel will also host the second annual AI Business Summit, taking place in conjunction with the conference. Designed specifically for executives, business leaders and strategists, the four-day event provides concise, high-level executive briefings on the most promising and important developments in AI for business.
